Thanks to Scott, I'm reminded of what I heard while at Jax. Dr. Vines introduced Johnny Hunt as "the next President of the Southern Baptist Convention". I thought some of you might like that.

It's always reassuring to see someone being touted as the next president of our convention who has the doctrinal conviction to make this statement:
'Everybody that gets in is the elect; and he’s elected all of us. I believe everyone can be saved. Anyone can come to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Someone said, “I don’t think you ought to preach like that.” Well, I just hope no one gets saved that’s not supposed to.'
Johnny Hunt is a good man, a great Pastor and a man with a heart for God. Perfect, he is not -- but he would make a great SBC President. I've known him for 20+ years, and his consistent integrity both personally and in ministry speak well for him.
I'll be praying for him...will you?

Good man, Mr. Weaver, M.Div. Thank you for pointing the need for prayer in regards to Johnny Hunt. I myself, not being an M.Div., need to be reminded at times of simple things like praying for our brothers who will be leading the Convention.
